Loss Control Seminars

 

 
 
Liberty Mutual Insurance, on behalf of the West Virginia Board of Risk and Insurance Management (BRIM), will present regional boiler and air conditioning systems safety and operations seminars at the Days Inn and Conference Center in Flatwoods, WV on October 30, 2019 and at West Virginia State University on October 29, 2019. The seminars are designed to educate and inform attendees on the everyday operations of boiler and air conditioning systems, as well as the safety involved in maintaining such machinery. 
 
We encourage your supervisors, maintenance and safety personnel involved in the oversight of your boiler and air conditioning systems to attend this informative seminar. Some of the significant topics to be presented include:
 
 
  • Water chemistry and boiler feed water;
  • Emerging boiler and machinery technology;
  • Electrical surge protection and its benefits;
  • Common causes and examples of air conditioning system failures;ommon causes and examples of air conditioning system failures;
  • Prevention of boiler system failures;
  • Fundamentals of boiler maintenance program;

     

There is no registration fee for this seminar; however, the seminar is only open to participants of BRIM’s insurance program. Refreshments will be provided in the morning. Attendees will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses, including lunch.
 
 
A seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at West Virginia State University, located in Institute, WV.  Parking will be available at Shawnee Park.  A shuttle bus will be available to transport attendees to and from the Student Union.  Additional parking ma be available on the college campus.  An additional seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Days Inn and Conference Center in Flatwoods, WV. 
 
Both seminars will begin at 9:00am and conclude at 3:00pm. We encourage you to register early, as we are limited to 100 participants for each seminar.
